Matcha

Matcha, also maccha, refers to finely-milled or fine powder green tea.

For roughly 800 years, the Japanese have appreciated the many healing properties of matcha green tea.

Now, as matcha gradually saturates the ever-evolving alternative consumer market of the West, its benefits are no longer oceans away.

Green tea has been popular in Western culture for many years, but this elixir is beginning to appeal to more and more people for many reasons.

Matcha green tea remains superior to other green teas because when it is consumed the entire tealeaf is consumed. As a result, matcha boasts many more health benefits than green tea alone.  Matcha contains far more nutrients and antioxidants than all other teas, and studies have shown it lowers cholesterol as well as the risk of liver disease. Furthermore, Matcha contains a unique amino acid called L-theanine, which helps the body stay energized and the mind stay alert.

Our Japanese supplier, AOI Tea Company (pronounced "Ah-oh-ee"), conducts stringent radiation testing while it adheres to the strictest regulations in the world.   As of April 1st, 2012, the Japanese government lowered its radiation exposure guideline.  This specifically refers to the total concentration of SC-131 and SC-134, types of radiation that are harmful to humans, per kilogram, from a maximum of 500 bq /kg to 100 bq/kg.

This radiation guideline makes the Japanese regulations for radiation the strictest in the world.
